SWAT TEAM ONE AND THE SOCIAL WORKER is an explosive start to what's sure to be a fantastic new series by Dixie Lynn Dwyer. It was an intensely captivating ride from beginning to end, and I absolutely could not put it down.

It's been two years, and Sam still isn't over the loss of her first love, Alex. She's made a life for herself in New York City as a social worker for the police department, but she still blames herself for his death. So, when she's attracted to not one but five brothers who work on the force-- and are wolf shifters like Alex--she does whatever she can to fight the attraction.

Dustin and his five brothers are wolf shifters, and they know that Sam is their mate. They have tried to stay away from her, but when she puts her life in danger, they can't wait another second to claim her. And claim her, they do. However, the life she left behind in Dallas has more consequences than she ever knew. And Sam and her mates have to get some answers before she's taken from them for good.

This one had it all. Action, suspense, gripping plot, all sorts of surprises...and YES, really hot sex! These five hot shifter males are all alphas and they are just incredibly yummy. Sam is the perfect mate for them as she's not going to just let them run over her. She starts off a bit timid in the book, but she really grew into quite the alpha female by the end.

The secondary characters were amazing as well. Sam's family that she never knew existed, as well as her mates' extended family all added to the world-building that was so wonderfully illustrated by the author.

The plot was fantastic. It blended both the shifter and human worlds wonderfully with the premise that shifters work with the government to not only protect the world but to also keep their secrets safe from those who would exploit them. There are a lot of surprises, plots twists and turns, and developments that keep you riveted. Every time I thought I had a handle on things, the author would throw something else in there to make me rethink everything I thought previously.

I loved the eroticism of the book. The immediate connection between Sam and her men was also based on months of desire from a distance. And while there is plenty of sex in the book, the plot still continued and was the main focus of the book. I must warn you that there is some sex in animal form that was brief and not at all graphic.

It all ended in a HEA that was quite satisfying but left the plot open to future books. Everything wasn't fully resolved, and I hope to hear more from the characters in the future.

This is my first book by Dixie Lynn Dwyer, but I really liked her voice. She wrote in such a way that was real and supernatural all at the same time. I'm looking forward to discovering more of her work.

When tragedy strikes, Melissa is left responsible to care for a whole family. Desperate times call for desperate measures. As if working in a strip club isn’t dangerous enough, she decides to moonlight for the sake of the poor and needy in the community, including her family. Add in a persistent cop who wants her to snitch and a notorious drug dealer who wants to bed her and she’s in over her head.

Vince, Logan, Sunny, Frankie and Jake are wolves and SWAT team officers. While out at a club, they meet their mate, and she’s one sexy little dancer. She avoids them, but they remain determined. When they pick up her scent near a drug factory they raid, they assume that she’s a criminal in their current investigation. They locate, handcuff and arrest her, and then they bring her back to their place to initiate their version of interrogation. By the time they’re finished, she’ll be begging for their touch.
If you’re going to rob from the rich to feed the poor be sure the drug dealing wolf you’re stealing from is an animal in name only and not a true beast!

Melissa (Mel to her friends) has an amazing heart for those in need, to the point of endangering her own life to provide for her orphaned nieces and nephew, a sick aunt and a whole slew of friends and neighbors that just need a helping hand. She has spent the last several years taking care of others and never suspected there would be one much less five men who wanted to spend every waking hour taking care of and loving her. The chemistry between Melissa and the Valdamar brothers is instant and scorching hot.

One of the aspects of the ST2 story that kept me reading, besides the great characters and terrific plot, was that even though the men are Alpha to the max they don’t try to immediately force Melissa to bend to their way of life. They realize that she has a job and is even studying for a law degree. In many dominate male type stories the heroine is expected to give up the life she’s built to be with the man (or men). I liked that the Valdamar brothers were able to appreciate that Melissa was intelligent and encouraged her to pursue her dreams.

SWAT Team 2 is the second book in the Men of Five-0 series for Ms. Dwyer. Each book is full length story where the readers are introduced to a new group of wolf shifting men who find and win their mate. Ms. Dwyer does a superb job of building a solid plot, multi-facetted characters and emotionally charged romance between the men and their fated mate.

The Men of Five-0 series is part of Siren Publishing’s Love Xtreme line but is different from the other series in that each book is a stand- alone story. You’ll notice characters from the other books mentioned so it helps to have read the other books but not at all necessary. I think after you’ve read one in will be hard not to go back and read the others, though. Ms. Dwyer is a wonderful story teller and an automatic buy for this reviewer.

If you love a fast paced paranormal that will have you reaching for a fan while holding your breath…you won’t want to miss SWAT Team 2 and Miss Robin Hood. Ms. Dwyer gives us a tantalizing tease of two more SWAT Team books within the pages of ST2. That’s awesome news for fangirls like me. Pick up your copy of SWAT Team 2 today and see just how good the odds of five to one can be!

This book was intriguing and held your attention. A book that had so many twists that you couldn't wait to see where Dixie led you next. It is helpful to have read the other book Were She Belongs. There is a lot of sexual tension and sexual releases. Love how Dixie kept the sexual tension going!

Having read Dixie Lynn Dwyer previously, I expected to like this book. However, I was not prepared for it to touch my heart the way it did. Anna’s courage in being determined to leave the past behind, to release attachments to negative and difficult things and refuse to use those negative things as an excuse for stagnation serve as an amazing example of a courageous and victorious way to live.

For the Love of Anna will be enjoyed by all who appreciate stories of overcoming adversity and finding true love, even when love looks a bit different than one might have expected.
